First Trip to the Zoo!

We're off on our first adventure to the Houston Zoo with all four kids!

The babies really enjoyed looking at all of the exhibits, especially those they could see up close.

"So I says to him 'Hey Llama, how about a little something? You know, for the effort?'"

Oh, wait, this is the wrong llama.

Having Fun!

Sshhhhh! Be very still! There's a Komodo Dragon behind you....don't move!
Do they look worried?

The latest giraffe addition at the zoo.

This is the Albino Crocodile. Ron thought he looked like a giant butter sculpture.

Passed out! Miss Catherine has had enough of the animal observation.

No more looking for Elizabeth either. There was just too much to see!

More Zoo Fun...

Parker and Noel posing with the Meerkat statue.

This tunnel goes through a very interesting exhibit. What's that swimming over the heads of our darling children?

Piranhas...That's right!

Let's hope the glass doesn't break.

Please do not feed the animals. Even if the try to convince you they are hungry and neglected, the really don't need to be fed. Just look at them from afar and admire their pretty coats and feathers.

8 Months Old!!
A conversation...

"Well Catherine, here we are, looking cute as can be. It's great to be 8 months old! This new jogging stroller is great since daddy is taking us with him on his morning runs. Should we be worried about baby fat?"

"No...We're supposed to look like this. I love being 8 months old. I am trying to walk - since I have mastered the crawl already. What I really like doing is pulling myself up in my crib and talking to my sister when I'm SUPPOSED to be taking a nap. But, I really enjoy cuddling with my mommy and daddy. It's a great life being a baby."

"It's me, Elizabeth! My hair is growing so quickly now. Thank goodness! I can't wait to wear hair bows. My mom thinks it's cute to put my hair up in a mohawk like this. I don't always find that amusing, but, it made me smile in this picture..."

Noel's Famous Person Report
Georgia O'Keeffe

The second graders at Wedgewood Elementary presented their famous person reports today. Noel was Georgia O'Keeffe. Wow! We all learned a lot about her. She lived to be 98 years old. She was an amazing American Artist. Noel received an "A" on her project! Way to go! This picture above shows Noel dressed up like Ms. O'Keeffe, paints and all...

Here is Noel presenting to her classroom. Her favorite fact about Georgia O'Keeffe; "In 1976 she lost her central vision. Her friend Juan Hamilton taught her how to use clay. She created art in that way for another 10 years!"
