YUMMMMMMM!!!!
Aunt Jody treated the twins their first ice cream bowl at Dairy Queen this past weekend. The results are in and the girls loved every single bite! Elizabeth wouldn't look at mommy because she was afraid I might take it away!

Let's see how big of a bite she can take!

Catherine was more methodical. Bite, bite, bite - mmmmmmm.

Insert spoon in mouth - try hard not to smile.

A BIRTHDAY PARTY - FINALLY!!
Yes! Now we are two - officially we were on June 28th - but as we mentioned before, our parents were not present to celebrate. They finally stepped up to throw us a party and we had a great time with our family.

Hi to all my fans! - it's me Elizabeth. I love cupcakes! Especially this extra special one my mommy made for me with yummy pink icing. MMMMMMMM!

Please don't use this picture as blackmail later... that icing was so delicious.

Hello to all my friends - it's me, Catherine. As you will observe, I also like cupcakes, however, I am a more refined, less-messy eater than my "older sister".

Hey - wait! Did I say less-messy? I meant, not AS messy.

WHAT DOES GRANDMA ADA SAY?

The girls are constantly being quizzed; what does a cow say?, what does a pig say?, what does an elephant say? And then, onto the people in their lives...

Here's a little shot of the girls tonight (with a little prompting from mom) reciting what some of the sayings from loved ones. There most favorite line? "What does Grandma Ada Say? NO HUBBUB!!!"

A SUNDAY OUTING
We thought it would be fun to take the kids to Brazos Bend park today. It was. It was a beautiful day. We saw an alligator in one of the lakes. We were even able to pet one at the Nature Center and as a bonus we were able to touch a Texas Corn Snake. It was cool.

Parker and Noel at one of the look out points. They both came here in kindergarten on camp outs. They enjoy this park so much. We found out today there are 30 different species of dragonflies in the park.

Elizabeth enjoying the walk. This was before she asked us to "hold you" only 50+ times.

Catherine had so much fun. She loved exploring the trail. She was in constant motion.

Star Jasmine. It was still blooming in the park. This was just one bloom we were fortunate enough to see and smell.

AND NOW WE ARE TWO!
The twins have entered the terrible twos...
Happy birthday to our little sweethearts!

Even though our mommy and daddy were not here on our official birthday (they were living it up in San Fran), we still managed to have fun! Aunt Jody spent the time with us and Gigi brought lots of frosting and cookies. A lot of the frosting did not make it on my cookie....oops.

As you can see, I figured out that it is much easier to spread frosting with your fingers. We had a fun day at Moody Gardens with Aunt Jody and Gigi. It was a blast - I saw a sea lion up close!

SEEING THE SITES IN SAN FRAN....
The four of us took an incredible tour of the city, its sites and surrounding areas.
Here are Mariglyn and Stephen before we departed on a bus on the tour.

A streetcar dings by.
Ron and I excited about the tour.

Looking through the seats - and we're off!

Mariglyn and Stephen

Ron and Susann

Best street sign ever!

Watching the cars successfully drive from top to bottom was cool.

China Town.

Out tour guide informed us that several films that were set in China, were actually filmed on the streets of China Town.

So many things to see here.

We really liked all of the signs.

Stephen and Mariglyn outside of Grace Cathedral.

The cathedral had amazing detail everywhere.

A view of the 7 Sisters Victorian houses in Alamo Square.

Ron and I - we enjoyed the foggy view of the city skyline above the sisters.

The Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park. This Buddha was incredible.

The drum bridge. This was not easy to climb up - or down.

The garden had spectacular views. It was very quiet and serene.

Crane sculptures

Simple beauty

The Golden Gate through the fog. It was so beautiful.

Another shot of the bridge.

Us with the bridge in the background. It was cold. I had to hold on to Ron.

Mariglyn and Stephen

A shot of the ferry that took us across the bay.

Stephen and Mariglyn - tired

Susann and Ron - we were tired.....

The Golden Gate "sort of" came into view once we left the dock.

Susann and Alcatraz Island

Alcatraz..... In the mist. This was the view from the deck of the ferry.

Ron

The city skyline came into view through the fog. It was amazing! All of the sudden, hundreds of buildings!

The Bay Bridge

The Port of San Francisco building. It was the final stop on our tour. We enjoyed the smooth ferry ride and the brisk weather along the way.
